Pack to the Future!
The sixth Newark Dragon Boat Festival took place on Sunday 13th September at the town’s Riverside Park and saw crowds line the banks of the Trent to witness the excitement as IEP came a well-deserved third place.
The festival has become a big draw for people wanting a day out as it offers an array of tasty food and drink, a bar, inflatables and other activities as well as the highlight, the race itself.
After reaching the semi-finals last year, IEP’s team took to the water against 23 others all aiming to raise as much money as possible for two well-deserving charities: The Children’s Bereavement Centre (our chosen charity for 2026) and Beaumond House (a local hospice).
The team fought hard and were delighted to take third place winning a coveted bronze medal and much-needed funds for a very deserving charity.
On the day, Serhii, our in-house Content Creator – and one of our paddlers – got some brilliant live footage which shows the action from the drummer through to the helm in our boat – with our competitors alongside us. It gives a great insight into how fast and furious it was out on the water as the team battled against the opposition to a bronze medal! They certainly gave it their oar!
