The Robin Hood Half Marathon is one of the longest-running and most popular city centre road races in the UK. It’s also the city’s biggest charity fundraising event, with OVER HALF A MILLION raised in 2025 alone!

Raring to go – Emma, Andrew and James
This year’s event took place on Sunday 27th September and we were proud to take part in support of the Children’s Bereavement Centre, which supports children, young people and families through the difficulties of bereavement. The 13.1 mile (21.1km) saw runners follow a route through the city passing many of Nottingham’s famous landmarks including the beautiful Victoria Embankment and River Trent, views of Nottingham Castle and the Robin Hood Statue, the historic Nottingham Park Estate and the iconic grounds of Wollaton Park.
Our own James Birchall, Emma Clarkson and Andrew Morris prepared for the event, which raises funds for a number of different charities, by running every Wednesday after work around the Newark area. This was James’ first half marathon and he admitted that it would be a good challenge to have under his belt. An impressive 9,900 runners completed the event with the first to cross the finish line just after an hour. James achieved a very impressive time of 2 hours and 15 seconds. Emma, a seasoned runner, who first ran this race ten years ago, took on the event as part of her training ahead of the York Marathon on October 18, ran the course in 2 hours and 2 minutes! We are very proud of their achievements.
At the time of writing, Emma, James and Andrew have raised an amazing £740, but if you’d like to support them, every donation—big or small—will make a real difference to the Children’s Bereavement Centre and the families they support.

Thank you for your encouragement and support.

It is only because of these runners, such as Emma and James, that we are able to be support as many children,
young people and their families as we can- every step truly does make a difference to our vision that no child should face grief alone.
