Looking to the future and what that may look like is daunting at best in these difficult times. It has become all too apparent that a large number of businesses have closed either temporarily or sadly on a more permanent basis due to financial struggles as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are no strangers to the harsh reality that things will not be the same for us either once we come out of the other side. Therefore it is time to plan for a new future and look at how we can adapt and build in these changing times.

Our dedicated and experienced team have been working throughout the pandemic delivering and handling freight for the emergency services and food supply chain. We have also put in place and started work on the development of the land attached to our existing International Logistics Centre in Newark, Nottinghamshire. This is an additional secure acre of hard standing with a new high grade road access which we have had planned for expansion of our Logistics businesses for some time.

Being ideally situated off the A46 between Nottingham and Lincoln, with easy access to the A1, gives opportunities to reach a wider area without the hassle of negotiating busy Industrial Estates. In addition, the new security gates give us unlimited access for even the most extreme abnormal loads.

Out of the 5 Gantry cranes we have on site, our capacity is also now at 55 metric tonnes per lift. Our total commercial logistics capacity now approaching 5 acres, plus heavy lift forklift container handling equipment, this investment sets our position as a multipurpose Cargo handling centre way above most other freight depots capabilities.

Already, we have had interest from various local, National and International companies looking to store trailers and storage containers onsite. This may be an interim measure to help build them back up or as a more permanent solution.
